Weddings & Civil Partnerships

Many young people, particularly the brides, have dreamed of their wedding day. They will have attended weddings of relatives and friends, seen them on TV and in films, or depicted in magazines or on Social Media. Often, they will have a fixed idea of how it should be and nothing wrong with that. A Celebrant can help make the dream come true and we start off by saying that nothing is too ambitious. Go for it! We can have beautiful readings and your favourite songs and traditional vows.

What if their partner has a different idea? (We may be talking ‘Bride and Groom’ but of course we may be talking Bride and Bride or Groom and Groom: hurrah!). The Celebrant can help a couple to negotiate their different expectations – better do that from the start!

Often, one or both partners may have been married before. Let’s think about ways of involving members of both families to symbolise your particular model of blending.

How about a ‘No fuss’ wedding? I understand that the 2020s mark a rise in people wanting simpler and meaningful ceremonies. I would love to work with you on perhaps writing your own words and finding special readings and symbols that are truly original and heartfelt.
